Handicaps
1) New members must have at least 5 rounds from any course to establish a temporary handicap.
2) When you establish a handicap at Elma please remember that we use Equitable Stroke Control. You can see an example of how to use it on page 4 of our Events Book.
3) Members must post all scores both home and away. All 9 or 18 hole scores must be posted.
4) When posting away score you must put the slope and rating for the tees you played
5) One signature is required for a card to be valid for handicap purposes. For tournament purposes two member’s signatures are required. Your last name must be printed on all scorecards.
6) When posting tournament scores you must put a “T” by your score in the posting book. Tournaments are Weeklies, Qualifiers, Majors and Monthly’s when playing your own ball in a stroke play format.
7) Penalties for violations: First offense the handicap chairman will contact the member and explain the violation; he may also assess a penalty of ˝ of your handicap. Second offense you will be assessed a penalty of your full handicap. It is the member’s responsibility to insure that their scores are posted correctly.
8) When posting your scores in the posting book you must put the date you played next to your score. Example - 85T 6/25
